As this Rotary year comes to a close, I find myself filled with gratitude for the privilege of visiting clubs across our district. Each visit was inspiring in its own way. Again and again, I saw Rotarians showing up with energy, creativity, compassion, and a deep commitment to service.

What stood out most was this simple truth: every club in our district is making a difference. Some are meeting urgent needs close to home. Others are building partnerships and projects that reach far beyond our communities. Many are doing both. Together, our clubs reflect the best of Rotary: local action, global connection, and service above self.

This year brought many moments worth celebrating. One especially meaningful example was the Rotary Club of Pine River Valley Centennial receiving a $25,000 Rotary Disaster Response Grant to help the community recover from last fall’s severe flooding. That support is a powerful reminder of what Rotary can do when compassion is matched with action.

We also had the extraordinary honor of seeing Dr. Nancy Kerr of the Rotary Club of Telluride recognized by Rotary International with the Service Above Self Award. This recognition is particularly special because this year only about 130 Rotarians worldwide received this recognition. Nancy’s service is a beautiful example of the heart, humility, and dedication that define Rotary at its best.

As I reflect on the year, I am deeply proud of our clubs, our leaders, and every Rotarian who gave their time, talent, and resources to strengthen our communities and serve people around the world. Your work matters. It changes lives. And it reminds all of us why Rotary continues to be such a powerful force for good.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve alongside you this year. Thank you for welcoming me into your clubs, sharing your stories, and showing me the many ways our district is living Rotary’s mission every day.
