Rotary District 5470 is pleased to open the Call for Nominations for District Governor for Rotary year 2029-30.

Qualified Rotarians who have the interest, experience, and commitment to serve our district are encouraged to consider this important leadership opportunity. We also encourage club leaders and members to identify and personally encourage Rotarians who have the leadership ability and commitment to serve.

Attached you will find the application and a reference sheet based on the current Rotary International Bylaws, including:

• Qualifications for Governor-Nominee, requirements a candidate must meet at the time of selection.
• Additional Qualifications When Taking Office as Governor, requirements that must be met by the time the selected Rotarian assumes office.
• Duties and Responsibilities of the District Governor, an overview of the responsibilities associated with serving as governor.

Important Dates:

• Wednesday, October 14, 2026: As we would like to conduct interviews in person immediately after the District leadership planning session on October 18, we would appreciate receiving all applications 4 days before.
• Sunday, October 18, 2026: Candidate interviews will be conducted in person in Colorado Springs. Additional information regarding the interview schedule and location will be provided to candidates.

The Rotarian selected for this opportunity will progress through the district leadership sequence as follows:

• 2026-27: Governor-Nominee-Designate (DGND), upon selection
• 2027-28: Governor-Nominee (DGN), beginning July 1, 2027
• 2028-29: Governor-Elect (DGE)
• 2029-30: District Governor (DG)
• 2030-31: Immediate Past District Governor (IPDG)

Serving as District Governor is a significant opportunity to help shape the future of District 5470 , strengthening our clubs, developing Rotary leaders, growing membership, supporting The Rotary Foundation, and advancing Rotary's mission throughout our communities.
