Rotary District 5470 celebrates an extraordinary honor recognizing generosity, leadership and a lasting commitment to doing good in the world.
Rotary District 5470 has a special reason to celebrate! District Governor Donna Hood and her husband, Ralph Hood, have been inducted into The Rotary Foundation's prestigious Arch Klumph Society, one of Rotary's highest honors recognizing extraordinary philanthropic generosity.
Donna and Ralph were among 47 individuals and couples honored during official induction ceremonies held October 9-11 at Rotary International World Headquarters in Evanston, Illinois, near Chicago.
Their induction places them among a distinguished global community of philanthropists whose generosity helps Rotary transform lives, strengthen communities and create lasting change around the world.
What is the Arch Klumph Society?
Named in honor of Arch C. Klumph, the 1916–1917 Rotary International President and founder of The Rotary Foundation, the Arch Klumph Society recognizes individuals, couples and organizations whose cumulative contributions to the Foundation total at least $250,000.
Klumph first proposed creating an endowment in 1917 to support Rotary's humanitarian work. What began with an initial contribution of just $26.50 has grown into one of the world's most respected charitable foundations.
Established in 2004, the Arch Klumph Society celebrates those whose exceptional generosity carries forward Klumph's vision of doing good in the world.
Members receive lifetime recognition, including the opportunity to have their portraits displayed in the Arch Klumph Society Gallery at Rotary International World Headquarters.
More importantly, their contributions help make possible Rotary's life-changing work, from eradicating polio and providing clean water to supporting education, promoting peace, improving health and creating economic opportunities for people around the globe.
