District 5470 Foundation Celebration honors generosity, service and the power of Rotary together

There is something powerful about a room filled with people who believe generosity can become action.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, Rotarians from across District 5470 will gather at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs for A Night to Remember, an evening celebrating service, honoring generosity and recognizing the clubs and individuals whose work made an impact during the 2025–2026 Rotary year.

The District 5470 Foundation Celebration will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. and will bring together Rotarians around one of the ideas at the heart of Rotary: when people combine their talents, resources and commitment to service, they can accomplish far more together than they ever could alone.

A gift to The Rotary Foundation may begin with one Rotarian, but it does not end there. It joins with the generosity of others and becomes grants, projects and programs that strengthen communities, support education, improve health, advance peace and create opportunity.

The Foundation Celebration is a chance to celebrate the people who make that work possible and the spirit of giving that carries Rotary service forward.

An evening with Geoff Cochran

Geoff Cochran

Featured speaker Geoff Cochran, Senior Annual Giving Officer with The Rotary Foundation, will bring a Foundation perspective to the evening.

Cochran works primarily with Rotary Zones 26 and 27 as part of a team that helps Rotary leaders better understand giving trends, strengthen relationships with donors and build philanthropic support that ultimately means more resources for Rotary grants and programs.

He has served Rotary International for seven years in a variety of roles and came to the Foundation following a decades-long career in nonprofit administration and management. He holds a master's degree in Public Service Management, has volunteered on numerous boards and committees and is a strong believer in Rotary's motto, Service Above Self.

His work reflects the larger story behind Foundation giving: individual generosity becoming collective impact.

Celebrating service across District 5470

The evening will also recognize Rotarians and clubs whose leadership and service distinguished the 2025–2026 Rotary year.

The program will include recognition from The Rotary Foundation, presentation of the 2025–2026 District Awards, Rotarian of the Year, the Chenoweth Award, the Monroe Award, and additional honors.

Behind every recognition is a story: a project completed, a partnership created, funds raised, young people encouraged, communities strengthened and countless hours given in service.

Some of that work is highly visible. Much of it happens quietly.

This is the night to celebrate both.

And perhaps just as important, it is an opportunity to simply be together.

Rotarians who may usually connect through meetings, emails, newsletters or computer screens will have the chance to sit around the same tables, renew friendships and discover what others across the district are doing.

Those conversations matter.

A conversation becomes an idea. An idea becomes a partnership. A partnership becomes a project. And a project can change a community.

That is what makes this more than an awards dinner.

It is A Night to Remember what connects us, to celebrate what we have accomplished together and to imagine what Rotary's generosity can make possible next.
