On New Year’s Day, Rotary will once again carry its message of service before millions of viewers as its 2027 float travels through Pasadena’s Rose Parade.
This year’s float, “Where Communities Bloom,” features a thriving village carried on the back of a giant tortoise. The design symbolizes the connection between a healthy planet and strong, sustainable communities.
It also celebrates Rotary members as People of Action who are restoring ecosystems, improving water quality, protecting natural resources and developing sustainable solutions that allow communities to thrive for generations.
For Rotary, the float is more than a beautiful procession of flowers, seeds and natural materials. It is public image in motion, offering a worldwide audience a vivid glimpse of what Rotary members accomplish together.
The tradition began in 1980 and continues through the support of Rotary clubs, districts and individual members. Rotarians can help bring the 2027 float to life by becoming an Ambassador Club, sponsoring the float, dedicating a rose, volunteering to decorate or supporting the riders and walkers who will represent Rotary along the parade route. Decorating registration is now open. (Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee)
When the finished float rolls down Colorado Boulevard on January 1, 2027, it will carry a simple message far beyond Pasadena:
When people come together to protect our planet, communities bloom.
Riding on the 2027 Rotary Rose Parade Float will be
Wyn Spiller — Rotary International Director for Zones 26 & 27 .
Thank you, Wyn, for riding with Rotary!
