As we begin a new Rotary year focused on Creating Lasting Impact, District 5470 is re-launching one of Rotary’s most effective leadership development programs: Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI).
During Governor Donna’s year, Rotarians across the district will once again have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Rotary, strengthen leadership skills, and connect with fellow members in meaningful, interactive learning experiences.
Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of Rotarians has already been hard at work becoming re-certified and preparing for a successful relaunch of the program in District 5470. Their efforts are laying the groundwork for a strong return of high-quality, accessible leadership training across the district.
As the new District Learning Chair, I am honored to join District 5470. As a Past District Governor from Montana, many of you may know me through High Country PETS (now PELS). For those I have not yet met, I look forward to connecting in the year ahead as we expand opportunities for learning and leadership across our district.
One of the initiatives I am most excited about is supporting the return of RLI. This program has long been a powerful way for Rotarians to grow their confidence, strengthen club leadership, and build relationships across geographic and club boundaries. It is also an excellent entry point for members who want to become more engaged in Rotary service and leadership.
RLI is designed for Rotarians at every stage of their journey. Whether a member is new to Rotary and looking to understand how the organization works, or a long-time Rotarian seeking fresh ideas and renewed energy, RLI offers practical tools, engaging discussions, and shared learning that strengthens both individuals and clubs.
Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) is a leadership development program designed to help Rotarians strengthen their leadership skills, deepen their understanding of Rotary, and become more effective club and district leaders. Through interactive discussions and practical learning, participants explore topics such as servant leadership, membership engagement, club operations, public image, service projects, and Rotary’s global impact.
RLI is open to all Rotarians who want to learn more about Rotary, develop professionally, and enhance their ability to create positive change in their clubs, communities, and the world. The program provides a collaborative environment where participants can share ideas, build relationships, and gain tools to help Rotary thrive.
